Hawser Drip Rail
HOME | CONTACT | MAIL

The term “Hawser” is given to a heavy line or rope used to tie-off or secure a ship being moored at dock. At COBRITT INDUSTRIES, INC., we utilize this rustic item to accent your bar or table top for an authentic nautical theme.

We start with a solid piece of maple wood, mill it to accommodate the 1 ½ thick hawser line, then cut both to your specifications. For function and effect, the ends of the hawser line are “seized” or “whipped” with twine to prevent the line from unraveling. For mounting considerations, the hawser line and the milled drip rail are shipped unassembled. Assembly on-site only requires clamps (probably pipe clamps) and construction adhesive.

The HAWSER DRIP RAIL can be affixed to the side of any flat surface running at a 90 degree right angle, perpendicular to a table or bar top (see illustration below). Whether you’re building a bar top or would like to add a rustic accent to a table, consider the HOGSHEAD HAWSER DRIP RAIL to add that authentic nautical theme to your bar or rec room.
